SNOOP DOGG - DEAD MAN WALKIN
Snoop Dogg "Dead Man Walkin" Album Review
A boring collection of rejected Snoop Dogg songs
Is there any point to owning this collection of rejected work that even Snoop Dogg himself didn't want released? Unless you're a hardcore fan of Doggy Dogg, then no. Some of the songs, like 'Too Black', 'County Blues', and 'Change Gon Come' are aiight... but that's only because the rest of the album is whack and forgettable. There's a reason why Snoop Dogg didn't want this album released, the vast majority of the songs on here are bland and forgettable. Skip it.

SCARFACE - THE DIARY
Scarface "The Diary" Album Review
face's darkest album
not my favorite I prefer his first 2 albyum's over this but I do like face and he talks about homicide a lot on here like on the white sheet, and jesse jaMES you gotta love it I seen a man die is classic love how face describes death and the soul going to outer space ah yes another smash is hand od the dead body featuring ice cube and both speak out against hip hop critics and my favorite joint is the last song the diary face raps crazy over a sly stone sample yes face talking about murder, murder, kill everybody really did it for me on here miss the old days.

RAKIM - THE 18TH LETTER
Rakim "The 18th Letter" Album Review
Rakim Is Still One of the Greatest Teachers
Back in the Mid-80's Hip Hop was still trying to emerge into the mainstream of music, while a few people were trying to bring it out only a couple of people (now legends) were able to do so. RUN-DMC, Public Enemy, Boogie Down Productions (KRS-One), LL Cool J, ICE-T & ERIC B. & RAKIM were those people. While all these people have a specific talent :RUN-DMC had a rock oriented rap combining with hard lyrics from Rev Run and hard rocking beats from Jam-Master Jay, :Public Enemy was the social political super group dealing with fighting for your rights with social concience lyrics from Chuck D and the hype man Flavor Flave.
Eric B. & Rakim was different from the rest in my opinion, Rakim's lyrics weren't about the money he makes, the girls or even about his politics, he was the originator of rap being really a poetic statement. If you really hear him spit he uses real words not talking illiteratly he was and still is the master of lyricism.
An Example:
" So I dig into my pocket, all my money is spent
So I dig deeper but still comin up with lint
So I start my mission-leave my residence
Thinkin how could I get some dead preasidents
I Need Money, I used to be a stick-up kid
So i think of all the devious things I did
I used to roll up, this is a hold up, ain't nuthin funny
Stop smiling, be still, don't nuthin move but the money."
This album is a must buy. I'm really glad I bought it, the first disc is the actual album giving people a sense of how Rakim spits now in the present, while the second disc being a Greatest HIts from when he was still with Eric B.. I suggest you buy this album if you want real Hip Hop because this is a great example of Hip Hop/Rap being an actual POETIC ART.

THREE 6 MAFIA - MYSTIC STYLEZ
Three 6 Mafia "Mystic Stylez" Album Review
Triple 6's First Come Up
This is one of my favorite Triple 6 albums...reason being that its one of their grimiest...hardcore..get buck..really underground sounding albums besides underground vol.2..which isnt that great anyway. But you can really see the quality in this album when you listen to it.My favorites are Break the Law 95..Da Summa..In Da Game..Back Against the Wall..Gotta Touch Em pt2..and theirs no forgetting Tear the Club Up..a song that i think the Triple 6 was made first famous from. Good album with hardcore beats and lyrics to get crunk to..but there are a few filler tracks. If your looking to build a triple 6 collection..I recommend starting with this album.
